The Founders

 

My name is Mem Chinorumba born on 7th of May 1989. I am a wife and mother of 2 beautiful children Pearl and Nate. My husband Jay and I founded Glam Hair AU in May 2020. After I moved to Australia in 2016, I struggled to find all my hair needs in one place. Staying in a small mining town in the Pilbara WA didn't make anything easier either. The only opportunity to buy any hair products or visit the hair spa was when visiting Perth WA which was a 12 hour drive. One had to mentally and physically prepare for this long drive, throw young kids into the mix, it was always chaos that i dreaded even to think about. I had to resort to overseas websites for hair supplies but as we all know sometimes what you buy is not what you get. It was then Glam Hair was born.

 

How it started

We started with only 5 wigs and nothing else. The African community in Newman WA was my first customers. I will never forget these ladies, they supported me when i didn't even know what i was doing. We grew to include a few accessories and hair extensions. With the vision we had for Glam Hair we realized this could only work if we moved to the city. We moved to Perth WA August 2020 and this was the best decision ever. Brisbane QLD was always the dream for a physical store which led us to move to Brisbane QLD February 2023. The rest is history...

At Glam Hair we don't jut create hairstyles, we educate our clients on caring for their hair so it continues to thrive long after they leave the salon. Every service is delivered with professionalism, attention to detail and genuine care.
